Deputy to the Second, Third and Fourth Term Sejm.

Member of the Sixth Term European Parliament.

Born on 8th April 1953 in Cracow.
In 1979 he graduated from the Faculty of Zootechnics of the Agricultural Academy in Cracow.
Between 1980 and 1985 worked in a Meat Processing District Enterprise in Cracow, where he was, among others, the deputy chairman of the Solidarity Trade Union and the deputy chairman of the Employees Council. Between 1985 and 1990 he was the chairman of the Farmers Associations Cooperative in Zielonki. From 1990 to 1992 he served as a secretary of the Executive Board of Polish People's Party in Cracow, and between 1992 and 2000 – as the President of the Executive Board.
1986–1990 he was a member of Zielonki Commune Council. 1998–2002 and 2010–2011 – deputy to Małopolskie Provincial Parliament.
He is a member of the Polish Hunting Association.
In the Second Term Sejm he chaired the Extraordinary Committee for Reviewing of the Lustration Act, and worked in the Administration and Internal Affairs Committee and in the Ownership Transformation Committee. In the Third Term Sejm he chaired the MP Ethics Committee and held the function of deputy chairman of the State Treasury, Franchisement and Privatisation Committee. Deputy chairman of two Extraordinary Committees: for review of draft acts on general access to archives and documentation of former state security services, and for review of draft act on reprivatisation of real property and certain real property of individuals taken over by the State of commune of the Capital City of Warsaw and compensation. In the Fourth Term Sejm he worked in the European Committee, the State Treasury Committee and the European Union Affairs Committee. He held the position of chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee for Ownership Transformation in strategic sectors. In the Sixth Term European Parliament he worked in the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee and in the Agriculture and Regional Development Committee. He was a member of a delegation for cooperation of the European Union with the People's Republic of China, and a delegation for cooperation of the European Union with Belarus. He was also a deputy member of the Commission for Constitutional Affairs.
