Senator of the 4 th, 6 th, 7 th, 8 th, 9 th and 10 th term Senate

 

He was born on 24 August 1953 in Michalinów.
He graduated from the Centre for Local Government and Development Studies at the University of Warsaw.
Between 1974 and 1978, he worked as a miner at the ‘Kazimierz-Juliusz’ Coal Mine in Sosnowiec. Between 1982 and 1988, he worked at the Zamość Military Automobile Plant, and in the years 1991-1997 – at the Municipality Office in Zamość. In the period 2001-2005, he worked at the Marginal Land and Housing Holding of the State Treasury Agricultural Resources in Michałów.
In 1981, he became involved in the activity of NSZZ ‘Solidarność’ for individual farmers. He served as the Chairman of the Municipal Board of this trade union in Zamość. In 1991, he became the President of the Voivodeship Council of NSZZ ‘Solidarność’ for individual farmers in Zamość. In 1992-2006, he was Secretary of the Presidium of the National Council. In 2007-2016, he served as the President of NSZZ ‘Solidarność’ for individual farmers. Since 2016, he is Vice-President of this trade
union. In the period 1995-2005, representing NSZZ ‘Solidarność’ for individual farmers, he was a member of the Council of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture, and in 1998-2005, he served as the Council’s President and Vice-President. He was a delegate to the Lublin Chamber of Agriculture of the first term.
In the years 1990-1994 he was a Councillor of the Zamość Municipality, and between 1994 and 1998 he held the position of the Chairman of the Council of the Zamość Municipal Council. Between 2002 and 2005, he was a Councillor of the Lubelskie Voivodeship Sejmik, and also a Board Member of the Lubelskie Voivodeship Sejmik.

In the 6 th term Senate, he presided over the Agriculture and Environment Committee. In the 7 th, 8 th and 9 th term Senate, he chaired the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee.
He serves as the Chairman of the Council of the ‘Kasa Nadziei’ (Cash of Hope) Foundation, the Dom Trzeciego Tysiąclecia im. Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego (Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński Third Millennium House) Foundation in Zamość, as well as Vice-President of the Friends of the Santa-Gala Hospice Association. He sits on the Council of the Mutual Insurance Support Foundation. Between September 2013 and October 2015 he was Vice-President of COPA (Committee of Professional Agricultural Organisations).
