Gustaw Brzezin

Member of the Eleventh Term Senate.

Born on 13 July 1958 in Ostróda.

He graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture at the Academy of Agriculture and Technology in Olsztyn. He completed postgraduate studies in plant production at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) and in administration and management at the University of Warmia and Mazury. In 2011, he received his doctoral degree in agricultural sciences.

He worked as a teacher at the Agricultural School Complex in Ostróda.

From 1998 to 2012, he held the position of the mayor of Ostróda Municipality. From 2012 to 2014, he was a Deputy Marshal, and from 2014 to 2023 – Marshal of the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship.

From 1999 to 2012, President of the Board of the “Clean Environment” Union of Municipalities of the Ostróda-Iława Region. Since 1999, he has been the President of the Town and Municipality Board of Voluntary Fire Brigades of the Republic of Poland in Ostróda and the Board of the Voivodeship Branch of the Association of Voluntary Fire Brigades.

He was awarded, among others: Gold Cross of Merit, Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, Gold Medal “For Merit to the Fire-Fighting” (“Za Zasługi dla Pożarnictwa”), Silver Medal “Guardian of Places of National Remembrance”, Third Degree Badge of Honour of the Polish Red Cross, Officer’s Cross of the Order for Merits to Lithuania, Badge of Honour of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for Supporting the Army.

Member of the Polish People’s Party. He is the Chairman of the Provincial Executive of the party.
