Janusz Sepioł

Member of the Seventh Term Senate
Born on 8th September 1955 in Gorlice.
In 1980 graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Technology in Cracow and, in 1981, from the Faculty of Philosophy and History of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow.
Between 1981 and 1990 worked as designer at Cracow Development Bureau. Twice – from 1990 to 1995 and from 1996 to 1997 – was department director in the Provincial Administration Office in Cracow. In 1994 r. was director of the office of the management board of Bank Przemysłowo-Handlowy SA w Cracow, in 1996 – director of the Spatial Planning Department at the Housing and Urban Development Office in Warsaw. In 2007 was the aide of Cracow City mayor for cultural matters.
Between 1999 and 2002 was deputy marshal then, between 2002 and 2006, marshal of Małopolskie Province. Between 2002 and 2006 was deputy to Małopolskie Provincial Parliament. Represented Małopolskie Province in the European Union Committee of the Regions in Brussels and in the Assembly of European Regions (AER) in Strasbourg.
Member of the SARP Association of Polish Architects, Society for Appreciation of Cracow’s History and Historical Monuments, Social Committee for Restoration of Cracow’s Historical Monuments. Member of the following museum boards: National Museum in Cracow, Archeological Museum in Cracow, Wawel Royal Castle, Historical Museum of the City of Cracow. Member of the programming council of the International Centre of Culture in Cracow.
Recipient of numerous branch awards for achievements in spatial planning and of foreign distinctions.
In the Seventh Term Senate was deputy chairman of the Local Government and State Administration Committee and member of the Culture and Media Committee. Was deputy chairman of the Delegation of the Sejm and the Senate of the Republic of Poland to the Central European Initiative.
Member of the Civic Platform Party of Poland and member of its national council.
Married, has two children.
