He was born on 21 January 1954 in Gniezno.
In 1977, he graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Poznań University of Technology, obtaining a professional title of a civil engineer with a specialization in urban and industrial construction. In 2003, he
completed post-graduate studies in property valuation at the University of Technology in Szczecin.
In the years 1977-1990, he worked on construction sites in Gniezno.
From 1990 until 1998, he was a Councillor of the Gniezno Town Council and then a Deputy President of Gniezno. Between 2002 and 2005, he was the Chairman of the Sejmik of Wielkopolskie Voivodeship.
In the years 2001-2019, he was the administrative director of the European College of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
Member of the Civic Platform party of Poland.
