Senator of the 9 th and 10 th term Senate


She was born on 30 May 1960 in Legnica.
Having completed cultural studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Pedagogy of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, she worked e.g. at
the Centre for Silesian and Bohemian Research of the Historical Institute of the University of Wrocław and ‘Wiedza o Kulturze’ (‘Knowledge about Culture’) publishing house of the Foundation for the University of Wrocław. She was an editor-in-chief of ‘Nasz Uniwersytet’ journal published by the University of Wrocław. She co-managed the Gallery of Modern Art of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers in Wrocław. She was a founding member and chairperson of Zachęta Lower Silesian Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts and a member of the Artistic Council of the Stage Songs Review. She was a custodian of the Ossoliński National Institute. She initiated the establishment of the Office of Wrocław Contemporary Culture and reactivated the Jazz on the Odra Festival.
She was a local government member, Chair of the Wrocław City Council of the 5 th term (2006-2009) and of the Sejmik of Dolnośląskie Voivodeship
in the 4 th and 5 th term (2014-2015). She is a member of the Management Board of the Association of Voivodeships of the Republic of Poland.
In the 1980s and 1990s, she was engaged in the activities of the Independent Students’ Association, NSZZ ‘Solidarność’ and citizens’ committees. She
was a secretary of the ‘Democratic Centre’ Association.
In the 9 th term Senate, she was the Deputy Chairperson of the Senate Team for Monitoring the Rule of Law.
She was awarded the Gold Cross of Merit for her activity in the local government.
Member of the Civic Platform party of Poland. Member of the Regional and National Board of the party.
