He was born on 20 July 1961 in Nieskurzów Stary.
In 1997, he graduated from the Social Sciences Faculty of the Catholic University of Lublin and completed a PhD programme of studies at that faculty between 1997 and 2001.
He worked as an assistant and spokesman for the President of the City of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski in 1990-1994. From 1994 until 1997, he was a vocational adviser at the Regional Labour Office in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski. He lectured sociology at the University of Business and Entrepreneurship in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski from 1997 until 2005. He also served as the Deputy Director of the City Public Library in that city (1999-2005).
Between 1998 and 2002, he was the Deputy Chairman of the Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski City Council, and in the years 2002-2005 – a member of the Ostrowiec Poviat Council.
From 2006 until 2010, he sat on the TVP Programme Council.
In the 9 th term Senate, he served as the Chairman of the National Defence Committee.
Member of the Law and Justice party, its Political Council and Świętokrzyskie Regional Board.
