Senator of the 8 th, 9 th and 10 th term Senate

 

He was born on 19 December 1957 in Kętrzyn.
He graduated from Secondary Vocational School with extended curriculum in general construction.
From 1976 to 1983, he worked as a technical and investment specialist in undertakings located in Ostrołęka. As a result of repression, he was fired. In 1983, he set up a family company offering, among other things, construction services. The company is still in operation today. For his activity in NSZZ ‘Solidarność’ he was interned and then sentenced to two years in prison. In 1988, he engaged in building the structures of ‘Solidarity’. He was the Chairman of the Citizens’ Committee in Ostrołęka. In 1990, he co-organised elections to the revived local government of Ostrołęka.
He initiated the Economic Forum in Ostrołęka, which brings together small and medium-sized enterprises. From 1999 to 2007, he was its Deputy Chairman. He is a member of the Stowarzyszenie Historii Ziemi Ostrołęckiej im. kpt. Aleksandra Bednarczyka „Adama” (association for the history of Ostrołęka region).
In the Senate of the 9 th term, he served as the Deputy Chairman and then the Chairman of the Human Rights, the Rule of Law and Petitions Committee.
In 2008, President Lech Kaczyński awarded him the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. In 2016, he was awarded the Cross of Freedom and Solidarity.
He was a co-founder of the Centre Agreement political party in Ostrołęka.
Member of the Law and Justice political party and the Chairman of its regional group.
