Deputy to the Sejm of the 3 rd term

 

He was born on 23 January 1958 in Olsztyn.
In 1982, he graduated from the Faculty of History at the University of Warsaw. He holds a Humanities PhD in the field of history. He also completed post-graduate studies in Scientific and Technical Photography at the Faculty of Biology of the said university. In 2007, he completed post-graduate studies in Real Estate Management at the Leon Kozminski Academy of Entrepreneurship and Management in Warsaw.
In the years 1982-1984, he worked as a history teacher in the Ruy Barbosa High School in Warsaw. Between 1984 and 1990, he worked as a journalist for ‘Fotografia’ quarterly, and in the years 1990-2010, for the national TV broadcaster Telewizja Polska, where he created or co-created 150 broadcast programmes. He is a licensed property manager.
In the years 2002-2006, he was a Councillor of the City Council of the capital city of Warsaw, in 2002-2004, its Deputy Chairman, and then Chairman until 2005.
Between 1993 and 1995, he was a member of the Media and Communication Council to the President of the Republic of Poland, while in the years 2005-2007, he held the office of Judge at the State Tribunal. In the years 2001-2016, throughout all three terms, he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Castle in Warsaw.
Chairman of the Culture and Media Committee in the 3 rd term Sejm. Deputy Chairman of the Culture and Media Committee in the 9 th term Senate.
He is a writer, publicist, author of several books and over 1,600 publications in the press.

While at University, he was involved in the democratic opposition movement. In 2002, the Institute of National Remembrance granted him the status of an aggrieved party.
He has no political party affiliation.
