He was born on 13 November 1958 in Kalisz.
He completed the second-cycle programme of studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. He is an entrepreneur, i.a. owner of the Greater Poland Agency PHiU ‘HELPER’, and a local government member – Councillor and Mayor of the Szamocin City and Municipality, Vice-President of the Stowarzyszenie Wielkopolski Ośrodek Kształcenia i Studiów Samorządowych (Association Wielkopolska Centre for Education and Local Government Studies) in Poznań and Vice-President of the Council of Voits and Mayors of the Piła Voivodeship.
He was the Deputy Minister of Economy and Head of the Government’s Anti-Crisis Committee. He was also a member of the Tourism Board by the Minister of Economy and member of the Labour Protection Council.
He was an author of pro-development Acts in the ‘Szejnfeld Package’, the largest set of provisions deregulating Polish administrative and economic law.
For five terms he served as a Deputy to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland from the Piła constituency, the Chairman of such bodies as the Sejm’s Economy Committee, the State Treasury Committee, the Committee for Limiting Bureaucracy, the ‘Friendly State’ Committee and the Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. He was also Chairman of the Standing Subcommittee for Tourism Promotion and Development.
He received numerous economic awards and won many journalistic competitions, e.g. Best Deputy to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland - from the ‘Puls Biznesu’ journal, one of top ten politicians in Poland – the weekly ‘Polityka’, Bona Lex award – ‘Gazeta Prawna’, for best Act of the  year. He won the first place in the journalistic competition ‘Man of the Year’ in Northern Greater Poland several times.
In his youth he played sports and was a sports activist, later served as the President of KS Sokół football club and Honorary President of KS Joker Piła volleyball club.
He is a strong supporter for women’s rights and equality. He cooperates with the European Union of Women. He runs a portal www.kobiecastronazycia.pl.
He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Polish Chamber of Electronic Communication (PIKE) and the Programme Board of the largest Polish energy conference ‘EuroPOWER’.
He is a member of the Euro-Atlantic Association, ‘Teraz Polska’ Competition Chapter of Fundacja Polskiego Godła Promocyjnego ‘Teraz Polska’, Chapter of the programmes Cent For Future and Perły Polskiej Gospodarki of the ‘Polish Market’ magazine published in English, as well as Chapter of the programme ‘Fair Play’ of the Research Institute for Private Enterprise and Democracy. He was a member of the Chapter of the Polish Presidential Economic Awards.
He serves as the Ambassador for Polish Business, Fair Play Ambassador and Ambassador for the European Programme Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs.
For his activity, he received dozens of prizes and distinctions, including a Badge from the Minister of the Economy ‘For Merit in Economic Development of the Republic of Poland’. He is an Honorary Citizen of the City and Municipality of Szamocin.
As a poet, columnist and blogger he writes for the printed press and posts on web portals. Author of such books as for instance ‘Kapsuła czasu’ (‘Time capsule’).
Member of the Civic Platform party – member of its National Board and the Vice-President of the Civic Platform Board in Wielkopolskie Voidvodeship.
