She was born on 10 June 1970 in Czechowice-Dziedzice.
Agnieszka Gorgoń-Komor comes from Bielsko-Biała. She has a PhD in medical sciences, is a doctor, graduate of the Medicine Faculty of Jagiellonian University’s Collegium Medicum in Kraków, internal diseases specialist, cardiologist and graduate of Podyplomowa Szkoła Medycyny Estetycznej (Postgraduate Aesthetic Medicine School) in Warsaw – a doctor of aesthetic medicine.
As a senior assistant at the Cardiology Department of the Voivodeship Hospital she was the only woman implanting artificial cardiac pacemakers. She currently holds the position of deputy head of the Cardiology and Cardio-oncology Department of Beskidy Oncology Centre – John Paul II City Hospital in Bielsko-Biała.
She was deputy secretary of the 4 th term Regional Medical Council. She is active in the medical self-government, in particular as a lecturer of the education centre of Beskidy Medical Chamber and, as of November 2013, as its co-ordinator. She is the author of a pioneer project entitled ‘Akademia Lekarza Rodzinnego’ (GP Academy) which raises the qualifications of GPs from the whole Bielsko-Biała Poviat.
She also participates in many national and foreign scientific conferences and is a member of the European Society of Cardiology and Polish Cardiac Society. She has served as Chair of the Beskidy branch of the Polish Medical Association for several years and integrates the medical environment by organising numerous conferences. In 2019, she obtained an MBA in Healthcare.
As an organiser of charity Doctor’s Balls for a number of years, she supports the collection of funds for non-governmental organisations such as: Salwatoriańskie Stowarzyszenie Hospicyjne (Salvatorian Hospice Association), Stowarzyszenie Hospicjum św. Kamila w Bielsku-Białej (St Camillus Hospice Association in Bielsko-Biała) or Towarzystwo Pomocy im. św. Brata Alberta (St Brother Albert’s Aid Society). She also co-organises many events such as White Saturdays and White Sundays – preventive campaigns serving to diagnose cardiovascular diseases and civilisation diseases, or International Beskidy Heart Days with a particular focus on the quality of life of the elderly.
She served as a Councillor during the 7 th term of the Bielsko-Biała City Council – Chair of the Health, Social Policy and Sport Committee and was the first woman to hold the position of Deputy Chair of the Bielsko-Biała City Council.
Member of the Civic Platform party of Poland.
