Born on 9th January 1958 in Wrocław.
Graduated from the First Faculty of Medicine of the Medical Academy in Warsaw in 1983. Completed the following post-graduate studies: family medicine at the Centre of Postgraduate Medical Education (1994), in health economics at the  aculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Warsaw (2000) and in bioethics at Institute of Ecology and Bioethics of the University of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński in Warsaw (2002). Received the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences in 2011.
Started his medical practice in 1983. Has been working at the Family Medicine Center in Warsaw since 1996. 2001−2008 – a lecturer at the Warsaw Family Alliance Institute of Higher Education. Since 2005 – a lecturer of the Department and Institute of Family Medicine of the Medical University of Warsaw. 2010−2011 – a senior assistant at the Clinic of Infectious Diseases and Allergology at the Military Institute of Medicine.
2010−2015 − worked for the Centre of Healthcare Information Systems in Warsaw.
Minister of Health since 2015.
1980−1981 – the chairman of the Independent Students’ Association of the Warsaw School of Medicine and treasurer of the National Coordination Commission of Independent Students’ Association. Connected with the Supreme Medical Council since 1999. Served as its president
(2001–2010), vice-president (2010–2014) and secretary (1997–2001). Currently holding the position of the secretary since 2014. Deputy chairman of the Regional Medical Council in Warsaw since 2013. 2002–2003 – a member the Liaison Committee of the European Forum of Medical Associations and the World Health Organization (EFMA/ WHO). 2010−2012 – the president of the Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME). Expert of the WHO Regional Office for Europe for certification and regulation of medical professions.
Deputy chairman of the Management Board of “Trzy Plus” Large Families Association, member of College of Family Physicians in Poland, and the Society of Family Medicine.
Has no political party affiliation.
Married, has eight children.
