Born on 27th February 1956 in Borzytuchom.
In 1982 graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Koszalin University of Technology, and in 1997 completed a postgraduate course in the Faculty of Management and Accounting at that university.
From 1982 to 1988 he worked as a teacher, and then the director of a primary school in Gostków. From 1988 to 1994 he was a visiting inspector in the Bytów Board of Education, and between 2003 and 2006 he taught in the Lower-Secondary School no. 2 in Bytów.
Twice (1990–1994 and 1998–2002) he was a member of Bytów City Council. 2002–2007 – member of Bytów District Council, 1994–2002 – deputy mayor of Bytów, and between 2006 and 2007 – administrator of Bytów District.
Since 2007 until 2011 he was the governor of Pomorskie Province.
President of the District Branch of Volunteer Firefighting Services in Bytów and a member of Kaszubsko-Pomorskie Alliance and Filip Neri "Nazaret" Association.
Member of the Civic Platform Party of Poland, holds a chair in the national council and Pomorskie Regional Board, and is a head of a district council of this party in Bytów.
Married, has four children.
