Born on 22nd June 1958 in Mysłowice.
In 1983 he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, and in 2006 he completed a postgraduate course in management of healthcare units in the University of Economics in Katowice. He received second degree of specialization in otolaryngology.
From 1984 to 2003 he worked in the City Hospital in Jaworzno, also as deputy head of the ward. Between 2003 and 2008 he was a vice-president of a company "Zespół Lecznictwa Otwartego" (Open Treatment Centre) in Jaworzno, and in the years 2010 and 2011 – the president of the same company.
Between 1998 and 2003 he was a member of Jaworzno City Council, and since 2007 until 2011 – deputy to Silesian Provincial Parliament. Between 2008 and 2010 he held the position of the marshal of Silesian Province.
He is a member of "Jaworzno Moje Miasto" Association.
He is a member of the Civic Platform Party of Poland and sits in the executive board of the Silesian Region of the party.
Married, has two children.
