Born on 3rd February 1955 in Bielsko-Biała.
In 1984 graduated from the Silesian Medical Academy in Katowice. In 2000 completed post-graduate studies at Jagellonian University Public Health Institute. In 1992 obtained specialization Level II in cancer surgery, in 2011 – the degree of doctor of medical sciences.
Since 1989 works at "John Paul II" Beskidzkie Oncology Centre (previously – the Provincial Healthcare Complex) in Bielsko-Biała. In 1998 became its director.
Member of the Polish Society of Cancer Surgery, Polish Oncology Union and Polish Medical Association. Deputy chairman of the Bielsko-Biała section of the Polish Committee against Cancer. Chairman of the "Evangelium Vitae" Society and the Association of Graduates and Friends of Mikołaj Kopernik Secondary School no. 1 in Bielsko-Biała.
In the Fifth Term Sejm was member of the Health Committee and the Family and Women's Rights Committee. In the Seventh Term Senate was member of the Health Committee and Family and Social Policy Committee.
Member of the Civic Platform Party of Poland.
Married, has three children.
