Member of the Sixth and Seventh Term Senate

Born on 9th June 1941 in Rybnik.
In 1968, graduated from the Mining Faculty at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. In 1981 obtained a degree of doctor habilitated in mining; in 1992 – a title of associated professor, in 2010 – full professor.
From 1958 to 1962 was a coal miner at Przedsiębiorstwo Robót Górniczych "Wirek" in Ruda Śląska. Between 1969 and 1972 was teaching assistant, then assistant professor, at Silesian University of Technology. 1972–1981 – administrative director of University of Technology in Lublin. In 1981, returned to Silesian University of Technology where between 1990 and 1996 was dean of the Civil Engineering Faculty. Lecturer at the Faculty's Department of Roads and Bridges and director of the Engineering Education Centre at the Silesian University of Technology in Rybnik. 1999–2007 – chairman of the A-1 Highway Construction Steering Team.
1998–2005 – member of Wodzisław District Council (its chairman between 1998 and 2002).
Specializes in small tunnel drilling technologies applied in building underground engineering structures, particularly in tunnelling operations using mining technologies. Author of several dozens scientific publications and numerous patents.
Member of the Solidarity Trade Union at Silesian University of Technology.
In the Sixth and Seventh Term Senate was member of the National Economy Committee. In the Seventh Term Senate was also member of the Budget and Public Finance Committee.
Member of the Civic Platform Party of Poland.
Married, has one child.
