Member of the Sixth and Seventh Term Senate
Born on 29th October 1953 in Białka Niżna.
Graduate of a mechanical engineering college.
Has been an employee of Polish State Railways since 1974. Until becoming a trade-union activist, was head of the Stróże train car repair section of the Rail Stock Plant in Nowy Sącz.
From 1990 to 1998 – member of the Grybów Commune Council. From 1998 to 2005 – deputy to the Małopolska Provincial Parliament (since 2002 – its deputy speaker).
Initiated the establishment in 1998 of Fundacja Pomocy Osobom Niepełnosprawnym – a foundation helping the handicapped – in Stróże, currently unsalaried chairman of the board of that foundation and of the board of the Land Transport Chamber of Commerce. Deputy chairman of the board of the Railway Sports Club Kolejarz Stróże.
Member of the Solidarity Trade Union. Between 1989 and 1992 – chairman of the local committee of the Solidarity Trade Union at Stróże Railway Junction. From 1992 to 1998 – chairman of the Regional Railway Workers’ Section of the Solidarity Trade Union in Cracow, then, until 2005 – chairman of the National Railway Workers’ Section of the Solidarity Trade Union in Warsaw. From 2002 to 2005 – personnel representative on the supervisory board of Polish State Railways in Warsaw.
In the Sixth and Seventh Term Senate was deputy chairman of the National Economy Committee, member of the Family and Social Policy Committee.
Member of the Law and Justice political party.
Married, has three children.
