Deputy to the Fifth Term Sejm

Born on 8th August 1949 in Opole.
In 1974 graduated from the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. In 1981 obtained the degree of doctor of technical sciences from that university. In 1989 was granted the degree of doctor habilitated by Technische Universitat Dresden. In 1996 obtained the title of professor.
Academic teacher. Between 1974 and 2001 worked at Silesian University of Technology (first as assistant, most recently as full professor). Between 1990 and 1992 lectured at the Higher Engineering School in Opole. Between 1997 and 2006 lectured at Opole University of Technology. Since 2008 – director of the Institute of Processes and Products Innovation at the University. Initiated the establishment in 2001 and until 2008 was rector of the Higher Occupational State School (PWSZ) in Nysa. Between 1976 and 1979 worked as designer at Biuro Projektów Przemysłu Hutniczego BIPROHUT (steelworks equipment design bureau). From 1992 to 1999 – scientific secretary of Centrum Mechanizacji Górnictwa KOMAG in Gliwice (mining automation institute). From 1999 to 2001– economic adviser to opolskie province governor.
Chairman of the Polish Production Management Society and the ecological "Na ratunek Jeziorom Turawskim" Association (“Save Turawskie Lakes”); chairman of the Committee on Production Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
In the Fifth Term Sejm was member of the Education, Science and Youth Committee and the Entrepreneurship Development Committee. In the Seventh Term Senate was member of the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee, Environment Committee and Science, Education and Sports Committee.
Member of the Civic Platform Party of Poland, member of its Opole regional council.
Married, has two children.
