Member of the Fourth and Seventh Term Senate, deputy to the Fifth Term Sejm

Born on 21st February 1958 in Sierakowice.
In 1982 graduated from the Transportation Economics Faculty of Gdańsk University and, in 1985, in history from the Faculty of Humanities at Gdańsk University. In 1996 completed the Higher Defence Course at the Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
From 1984 to 1990 – teacher at the economic secondary school in Żukowo. Between 1996 and 1997 – researcher at Gdańsk Institute for Market Economics and president of Gdańsk Academy of Occupational Education. From 1997 to 2001 – member of the editorial board of “Pomorski Przegląd Gospodarczy” and, between 1998 and 2005 – member of the editorial board of “Pomerania” monthly magazine. 2001–2002 – director of the Maritime Office in Słupsk. In 2002 was self-employed. From 2002 to 2005 – director of the Regional Research Centre at the Hanzeatic Academy of Management in Słupsk. Since 2005 – chairman of the Provincial Employment Council in Gdańsk.
2002–2007 – member of the Founders’ Council of Kashubian (Kaszubska) Folk High School in Wieżyca; 2007–2010 – member of the Council of “Pro-Europa” Kujawsko-Pomorskie Foundation. Also member of the Supreme Council of Kaszubsko-Pomorskie Alliance (1990–2004 – deputy chairman of its main board), the “Kolping’s Family” Association and the Cardinal Ignacy Jeż Association.
From 1990 to 1993 – mayor of Łeba; from 1993 to 1996 – governor of Słupsk Province. Between 2002 and 2005 – deputy to the Pomorskie Provincial Parliament.
In the Fifth Term Sejm was deputy chairman of the Committee on National and Ethnic Minorities and member of the Public Finance Committee and Territorial Self-Government and Regional Policy Committee. In the Fourth Term Senate was chairman of the National Economy Committee and member of the Local Government and State Administration Committee. In the Seventh Term Senate was chairman of the Budget and Public Finance Committee and Subcommittee „Przyjazne Państwo” and member of the National Economy Committee and Emigration Affairs and Contacts with Poles Abroad Committee. Deputy chairman of the Delegation of the Sejm and the Senate of the Republic of Poland to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
Member of the Civic Platform Party of Poland and deputy chairman of its Pomorskie Regional Board.
Married, has two children.
