Member of the Seventh Term Senate

Born on 15th June 1949 in Wrocław.
Graduate of the Electrical Faculty of Wrocław University of Technology (1973). Completed post-graduate studies in management of economic units at the Faculty of Law and Administration of Wrocław University (1993), in management of enterprises in market economy at the Faculty of Economics of Poznań University of Economics (1994) and at the College of Management and Finance of Warsaw School of Economics (2000). In 1983 obtained the degree of doctor of technical sciences.
Between 1973 and 1989 taught at the University of Technology in Zielona Góra. Worked in Algeria – as lecturer in the National Science Institute in Saida and Universite dès Sciences et de la Technologie d’Oran (1989–1991) and as electrical engineer in the newly launched power plant in Mers El Hadjadj (1991–1992). Between 1992 and 1994 was deputy director of the Economic Department of the Provincial Administration Office in Zielona Góra. From 1994 to 2000 – director of Lubuskie Fabryki Mebli (state-owned furniture manufacturing plant) in Świebodzin and between 2002 and 2007 – in several heat supply companies (among others at Lubuski Zakład Energetyki Cieplnej in Zielona Góra).
In 2000–2001 – governor of Lubuskie Province. In 2006–2007 – deputy to Lubuskie Provincial Parliament.
Between 1980 and 1992 was a Solidarity Trade Union activist. Founding member of the Solidarity Civic Committee in Zielonogórskie Province (1989) and its delegate to the Provincial Election Committee and editor of “Solidarność Środkowego Nadodrza” bulletin (Solidarity of Middle Odra Region bulletin).
Founding member (1981) and former chairman of the Catholic Intelligentsia Club in Zielona Góra. Entrepreneurial activist; former chairman of the Lubuskie Region Employers’ Organisation, served on its executive board (1995–2007); at present – member of its Programme Council. Deputy chairman of the Lubuskie Association for the Development of Energy Industry. Chairman of the Labour Protection Committee at regional labour inspector in Zielona Góra, also head of the Supervisory Council of the Academic Enterprise Incubator at the University of Zielona Góra.
In the Seventh Term Senate was member of the European Union Affairs Committee and National Economy Committee.
Member of the Civic Platform Party of Poland and member of its regional council.
Married, has three children.
