Born on 28th September 1963 in Gdynia.
1989–1996 – graduated from the Faculty of Languages at the University of Gdańsk, completed postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the same university.
He is a banking expert. From 1992 to 2012 he was the chairman of Krajowa Spółdzielcza Kasa Oszczędnościowo-Kredytowa (SKOK) credit union in Sopot, from 2012 to 2014 – the chairman of the Supervisory Board of SKOK, since 2008 – the chairman of SKOK Holding S.A.R.L. in Luxemburg. Chairman of Fundacja SANITAS Centrum Medycyny Specjalistycznej (Specialized Medicine Centre Foundation) since 2010 and the head of the Spółdzielczy Instytut Naukowy (Cooperative Scientific Institute) in Sopot.
Head of the office of the National Committee of the Solidarity Trade Union in Gdańsk in the years 1989–1991.
Member of supervisory boards of numerous companies and foundations. 1990–2011 – the chairman of Fundacja na rzecz Polskich Związków Kredytowych (Foundation for Polish Credit Unions) in Sopot. From 2001 to 2013 he was holding the position of a deputy chairman; between 2013 and 2015 – the chairman of the World Council of Credit Unions Inc. in Madison (USA). Since 1996, he has been the chairman of the Supervisory Board of SKOK im. F. Stefczyka. From 1998 to 2012 he had a seat on the General Assembly of the National Co-operative Council.
He is founding a member of the Society for Promotion of Financial Education.
Deputy chairman of the Budget and Public Finance Committee and a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Eighth Term Senate.
Has no political party affiliation.
Married, has two children.
