Born on 6th June 1964 in Kętrzyn.
In 2007 graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Bialystok.
In the years 1993–1997 worked as a journalist in editorial offices of "Kontakty", "Gazeta Wyborcza" and "Gazeta Współczesna" located in Łomża. He held the position of a press spokesman of the governor of Łomża (1997–1999), marshal of the Podlasie Province (1999–2002) and the mayor of Białystok (2002–2006).
In the years 2007–2011 he was a deputy mayor of Białystok. Since 2010 until 2011 was a deputy to the Podlasie Provincial Parliament.
Member of the Civic Platform Party of Poland and the chairman of this party in Białystok.
Married, has two children.
